Undervolting Intel Core i7-9750H for extra 400MHz!
Don't get me wrong, before AMD's 4900 CPUs become mainstream, Intel's Core i7-9750H offers pretty solid performance you can get on a laptop.
The chip, however, runs hot, even on a large form factor laptop with decent cooling. I am currently running this on Aftershock Forge 15, where the dual fans can cool up to 55-60W combined.
However, I am still faced with Thermal Throttling when running it at full load.
With limited options to improve cooling, I decided to undervolt the CPU to improve the thermal headroom for its turbo boost.
The results are an additional 400Mhz without overclocking!
Your mileage may vary, but no harm giving it a go!
